Dos Búhos

Recognized as one of
the best wineries in Mexico by Wine Terroir

Located in the Mexican Altiplano, at the base of the Los Picachos mountains, we are an organic vineyard and family winery producing 100% artisanal wines from our own vineyards that are a beautiful expression of the region's terroir and a winemaking philosophy that values quality without compromise and creativity without limits.

The Mexican Altiplano region at 2000 meters above sea level, ideal for producing quality wines at these latitudes. Vineyards with a gentle south-facing slope.

Average temperature between 16 ° C and 22 ° C, dry-temperate climate, moderately hot summers and cool winters.

Shallow silty clay, neovolcanic fine gravel, protected from excessive rainfall thanks to the proximity to the Picachos mountains

An excellent expression of Tempranillo, Cabernet Franc, Aglianico, Sauvignon Blanc, Moscato Giallo and 15 more organically produced varieties.

Our wines are a reflection of the land and climate of San Miguel de Allende, they transmit the passion and know-how of our team, revealing unique aromas and flavors.

We make all of our wines organically and produce limited editions of unique wines, such as our orange wine and wines made with native yeasts.

Meet our team

Our passion for
our vineyard and the earth

At Dos Búhos we feel privileged and grateful to work with an exceptional team in the vineyards and the winery. The collective knowledge and agrarian expertise of the vineyard team and winemakers Katy and Milum Perry are critical to our success. Many on our team come from farming families who have had direct contact with the land for generations and possess knowledge of traditional and sustainable techniques that are at risk of being lost. We honor their contributions and hard work at Dos Búhos.

As one of the few wineries that produces 100% Estate Wines in the Mexican Altiplano, Dos Búhos has the highest level of control over the cultivation and vinification processes, allowing us to manage our wine from berry to bottle. Our best grapes are hand picked and harvested to produce wines with the best flavor, concentration and depth possible. In the winery we use traditional winemaking techniques that focus on texture, structure and complexity, while allowing the fruit to shine with minimal intervention.

Reviews, ratings and kind
words from wine experts.

Dos Búhos is probably one of the best wineries in Mexico. While Valle de Guadalupe is Mexico's most acclaimed wine region, Dos Búhos, however, is located in the relatively unknown San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. This vineyard is located at 2000 m. The winery uses sustainable agriculture and minimal intervention winemaking.

Robert Vernick Wine Terroir

Some say that the San Miguel de Allende region has one of the most suitable soils for growing grapes in the entire country. This winery is the proof.

Alejandra Naranjo Food & Wine Spanish

Dos Búhos, is a dream and a collective journey where what aroused long ago as a concern to create something tangible, unique and lasting, opened the doors to this fascinating labyrinth of creativity, passion and diversity.
